Pecan Rubbed Pork Tenderloin on the Big Green Egg

Rubbed Pork Tenderloin on the Big Green Egg

The warm weather is here and we are outside cooking as much as possible now. Tonight was a simple dinner and one we are sharing with you as it was delicious! This is a quick and easy way to get dinner ready using your Big Green Egg, a favorite BBQ rub, and a Pork Tenderloin. Grab a glass of wine or a beer and enjoy this post featuring Pecan Rubbed Pork Tenderloin on the Big Green Egg.

Pecan Rubbed Pork Tenderloin on the Big Green Egg

For this recipe I used Deez Nuts Honey Pecan BBQ Rub by Meat Church. By far Meat Church makes my favorite rubs to grill with. “Deez Nuts” came out just before Thanksgiving 2014 and is a play on one of his other rubs “Honey Hog”. This rub adds a hint of Pecan flavor to the sweet and savory mix. This is a perfect compliment to the Pork Tenderloin and the color is amazing.

Another thing I focused on in this post is the technique of cooking raised direct on the Big Green Egg. This method raises the cooking surface 6 inches or so allowing you to cook your meat over the open fire but not too close to overcook the surface. I love cooking pork and chicken using this method. You will see many of my posts will feature this. If you are looking for a raised grilling surface for your BGE you can get one here.

For this recipe it is so simple I feel silly typing it up for you! But here it is…

Take your Pork Tenderloin out of the packaging and wipe it dry with paper towels. Let the tenderloin come up to room temperature as you preheat your BGE to 400° measured at the dome. Rub your tenderloin with your favorite BBQ seasoning (in this post I am using Deez Nuts by Meat Church). Place the tenderloin on the raised cooking grid and let cook 10 – 15 minutes the turn and cook for another 10 – 15 minutes. Once your tenderloin measures 135° using an instant read meat thermometer pull it off and let it rest for 5 – 10 minutes.
